On Friday, March 10, the Saint Joseph's University Board of Trustees elected Cheryl A. McConnell, PhD as the 29th President in its 172-year storied history. Dr. McConnell, a 35-year veteran of Jesuit higher education, has most recently served as SJU's Interim President since June of 2022, and as Provost and Chief Academic Officer for the three prior years. Following the announcement of Dr. McConnell's election, at a convocation held in the Cardinal John P. Foley Campus Center on the Maguire Campus, Father Daniel Joyce, SJ shared a biblical image of 'seed time and planting' as descriptive of the day's promise.
